The first Brunch of 2009 was a super relaxing success - blessed with an exceptionally beautiful day, the event started at around 1pm and it ended for a few of the attendees well past 11pm, a sign of a quite pleasent company and day!
We met up at the "Three Bridges", an Italian Restaurant just meters from Battersea Park. Excellent food so much so that many of us lost track of time and what was supposed to be just a short lunch, ended up lasting over 4hrs, in truly italian fashion! Apologies for this, we promise next time we will keep an eye on the watch!
We then moved to Battersea Park which really enchanted quite a few of us with its simplicity and jet its fresh beauty, with fountains, a small lake and a general sensation of welcome for the visitor. We even stumbled across a group of young students exercising in breakdance and hip-hop dance moves - well, this is London!
The day continued for a few of us until late, when we moved to the ever wonderful "Arancina", an Italian Bar and Restaurant in Notting Hill, where we were treated for a very Italian finishing, with singing and delicious cassata! Well, are you ready for the next brunch?
A big thank you to Marco Cristaldi from the Three Bridges Restaurant for the hospitality and exquisite food. Thank you also to the staff of Arancina in Westbourne Grove and especially to crooner Christian Vinante, who accepted our requests, singing for us from Vasco Rossi, to Grignani, Gianna Nannini and...many others!
