Where were you on Saturday, 15 August 2009? Well, hopefully many of you were relaxing on a sunny beach in Italy or somewhere else around the Globe, enjoying the most important day of Summer : Ferragosto!
Here in London, we celebrated this special day with a superb Pizzata, now to its 13th edition! The night was held at the brilliant Rosso Pomodoro in Covent Garden and had over 180 participants - we didn't break last year record only because of the space limitations of the venue and we do apologise for the people who could not find a seating when they arrived!
The atmosphere was brilliant, as you can see from the photos in our Gallery (just left to the title of this page). We started with an aperitif outside the venue and we greeted the attendees with Hawaiian style garlands, just to make sure a bit of Summer was shining on our Pizzata...we then carried on inside the restaurant where many foreign friends joined us, obviously they were curious to know a little bit more about Ferragosto! We had people from Spain, Greece, USA, Canada, France, Germany, Ukraine and Brasil...all enjoying this very Italian Night!
A special thank you the the staff of Rosso Pomodoro in Covent Garden - their support and assistance was fundamental to the success of the night - and in particular to restaurant manager Daniele and to the wonderful Benedetta.
